Product details

Background & context

From the mid-1930s the German Air Ministry organised aircraft finishes in a numbered colour list, and its shades are still known as RLM colours. RLM 66 black-grey became the colour for cockpits and instrument panels from the late 1930s, gradually replacing the older grey RLM 02 there. Until the end of the war the dark shade remained usual inside the canopies of most Luftwaffe fighters and bombers.

On the tabletop

Spray RLM 66 with the airbrush into cockpits, onto instrument panels and seats of your German aircraft models. Thin it with AK acrylic lacquer thinner or another acrylic lacquer thinner, not with vinyl thinner. The paint grips the surface well and afterwards takes washes and other weathering products readily. As the lacquer contains solvents, work in a well ventilated room.
