Product details

Background & context

During World War II, the PaK 40 and its Sd.Kfz.11 prime mover were among the most important weapons of German tank destroyer and artillery units. The guns were used to engage infantry, vehicles, or fortified positions from a distance. In a tabletop context, the model represents mobile heavy anti-tank capability and adds a clearly recognizable support role to armies.

On the tabletop

Four PaK 40 guns with their Sd.Kfz. 11 tractors form a German anti-tank unit for 1942 to 1945 in 12 mm scale. Dug in behind sandbags, each gun covers an approach that Allied or Soviet tanks have to use. Hitched to the half-track with riders in the back, the gun is shown changing position. Two crews, one in field tunics and one in camouflage smocks, let you give each gun its own appearance.
