Background & context

Hannover und Großbritannien teilten sich bis 1837 denselben König. Als die Franzosen 1803 das Kurfürstentum besetzten, gingen die Reste der Armee nach England - daraus wurde die King's German Legion. 1815 stellte das wiederhergestellte Hannover eigene Feld- und Landwehrbataillone, die bei Waterloo im Zentrum und um La Haye Sainte standen, vielfach frisch ausgehoben und trotzdem den ganzen Tag im Feuer.

On the tabletop

Five Hanoverian infantrymen with spare heads bring the German contingents into Wellington's army of 1815. In Black Powder you place them as allied line beside the British battalions, where they hold their sector and fire volleys. The restored Kingdom of Hanover sent field and Landwehr battalions to Waterloo, which stood in the centre and around La Haye Sainte, many of them newly raised.
