Product details

Background & context

Unlike the Totenkorps, who are made from the fallen, the Nachtalben enter the chambers of Axis research of their own free will. What comes out afterwards hardly looks human any more, but it still obeys rank and uniform. That is exactly what makes them valuable to the Wehrmacht. They move unnaturally fast, see in the dark and get through terrain that holds infantry up. Their operations almost always fall between sunset and dawn.

On the tabletop

In Konflikt '47 the five Nachtalben fight differently from the other Axis Rift troops: they carry weapons and operate like conventional infantry, only much faster. This squad has StG 44Z rifles, a light machine gun and Panzerfausts, so it can attack infantry as well as vehicles. Their strengths are infiltration, ambushes and advances under cover of darkness. Difficult terrain hardly slows them, so you can lead them through it onto the enemy flank.
