Product details

Background & context

During the Second World War, Britain's Coastal Forces operated motor torpedo boats and motor gun boats from small harbours on the east and south coasts, such as Felixstowe, Great Yarmouth and Dover. Their German opponents, the S-boats, were based in Dutch and French ports, some of them in reinforced concrete pens. In June 1944 British bombers carrying heavy bombs wrecked the S-boat pens at Le Havre and many of the boats lying there.

On the tabletop

Place the main quay along the table edge with the jetties in front of it and your boats have a home port to return to after a mission. In scenarios the harbour becomes a target: attackers try to hit the boats at their moorings before they sail, or to destroy the warehouse. It suits Cruel Seas and fits any coastal setting at this scale.
