On the tabletop

Use black epoxy putty when a repaired spot should match a black surface without painting it afterwards. It closes gaps on black plastic parts or lets you shape dark rock and slate on bases. Knead equal amounts of both sticks thoroughly. Once the putty has cured, you can drill, file and sand it, and it still holds firmly to the surface.
