Product details

Background & context

When the K-4 reached the fighter wings from autumn 1944, the air war over Germany had long been decided. It flew in Operation Bodenplatte on New Year's Day 1945, that last great blow against Allied airfields, which cost the Luftwaffe more pilots than it gained. The Bf 109 remains the most-built fighter aircraft in history, and the K-4 marks the end of that line.

On the tabletop

At just under 14 cm long, the 1:72 Bf 109 K-4 is the last production version of the fighter. All three markings come from the final months of the war: one aircraft from Neuruppin in November 1944, one from Prague in 1945 and one from Amberg in May 1945. That lets you show the closing phase of the air war over Germany and Bohemia. As a display model it rounds off a row of Bf 109s, and in a diorama it fits onto a forward airfield next to other German fighters in 1:72.
