Product details

Background & context

In British service, Sherman Hybrid was the name for the hull whose cast front section was joined to welded side walls. Because the extra-long 17-pounder barrel gave a Firefly away from far off, many crews camouflaged the front half of the barrel and stacked kit on the hull and turret rear to break up the outline. The kit was useful anyway: inside the turret, the gun's long breech took up a good deal of the space.

On the tabletop

These 14 resin parts belong on the Firefly with the hybrid hull from Rubicon kit 280061, whose cast nose is joined to welded side walls. Most have a set place, a few are generic. Because the long 17-pounder gun gave a Firefly away from afar, crews tried to disguise its shape, and stowage on hull and turret helps with that on the model too.
