    This 12mm/1:144 scale set combines three Loyd Carriers with three 6-pounder anti-tank guns and their crews. The models are suitable for British anti-tank platoons from the North Africa campaign to the Normandy landings and also include stowage, ammunition boxes, and optional soft-top covers.

    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The 6-pounder entered service in 1942, replacing the underpowered 2-pounder as the primary British anti-tank gun. The 57mm gun was effective against most German tanks in 1942 and caused significant losses at Gazala. The Loyd Carrier was built in large numbers from 1939 to 1960 and served primarily as a tow vehicle for the 6-pounder gun. During the Normandy landings and until the end of the war, it was an important transport and towing vehicle for British anti-tank units. British airborne divisions also deployed 6-pounders by glider to bolster their anti-tank capabilities.
