    Background & context

    On the tabletop

These 24 legionaries in scale armour belong to the Late Roman army of the 4th century, such as the field troops who marched with the emperor. They fight with spear and spatha at close quarters, while the plumbata weakens the enemy just before. Two types of standards and a full command make the unit ready for the table. Mixing them with the mail-armoured box from the same range gives your units the less uniform look that fits the period.
