Background & context

Mit dem Uniformmuster von 1812 bekam die russische Infanterie den hohen, oben ausgestellten Kiwer und den kürzer geschnittenen Rock. Getragen wurde beides auf dem längsten Marsch der Epoche: von Borodino und dem brennenden Moskau über Leipzig bis vor die Tore von Paris im Frühjahr 1814. Wer diese Regimenter aufstellt, baut genau die Armee, die Napoleon am Ende den Rückweg abschnitt.

On the tabletop

With the tall, flared kiwer and the shorter coat, these four line infantrymen wear the Russian uniform pattern of 1812, and spare heads are included. In Black Powder they fill out battalions for the campaigns from Borodino via Leipzig to Paris in 1814. Since Russian armies take the field in large numbers, four figures are used up quickly and make a good supplement to the full box.
