Hintergrund & Einordnung

The Ju 88C originated as a conversion of the proven Ju 88 bomber and became one of the most versatile heavy fighter aircraft of the German Air Force in World War II. Instead of the characteristic glazed nose, the aircraft received a solid fairing with a concentrated mixed armament of machine guns and cannons. Its range of operations extended from the fighter-bomber role to bomber interception and long-range escort over the Atlantic. This versatility made the Ju 88C a feared adversary in numerous theaters of war in Europe and the Mediterranean.

In the game, the Junkers Ju 88C Squadron represents a complete Blood Red Skies squadron. The squadron is suitable for dogfights with heavy destroyers and night fighters; its strengths should be consciously exploited in scenarios around the Western Front, Eastern Front, and Reich defence.
