Product details

Background & context

The German Air Ministry set out a numbered colour list for German aircraft, in which RLM 05 ivory was intended for gliders. In the 1930s Germany built gliders and sailplanes in large numbers to train young pilots. The pale finish is therefore found on training gliders and performance sailplanes of the pre-war and war years.

On the tabletop

The paint comes ready to spray, so you can use it unthinned at 15 to 20 PSI, that is 0.5 to 1 kg. If it flows too thickly, add a little Vallejo Airbrush Thinner or Flow Improver. Build up the pale tone on the primed surface in several thin layers until it covers evenly. Touch up small spots on gliders or training aircraft with a brush.
