Product details

Background & context

Dark grey is the colour that clung most stubbornly to the Wehrmacht: panzer grey remained the standard finish of the armoured force until 1943, before dark yellow took over as the base colour. On the gaming table the same shade has long been established as shorthand for the German side, well before anyone began colouring dice to match. Anyone building two armies reaches almost automatically for grey for the one and a lighter colour for the other.

On the tabletop

Opaque dark grey with black pips picks up the shade the German armoured force carried as its standard finish until 1943. Chessex supplies twelve 16 mm D6 in this colour as a block. On the table these dice stand for your German side, while your opponent reaches for a lighter colour. Twelve of them are enough to resolve the attack of one unit in a single roll.
