Product details

Background & context

The French mountain troops were given the nickname Diables bleus, blue devils, by their opponents as early as the First World War, on account of the dark blue uniform and the way they fought. They were equipped for winter warfare: skis, heavy greatcoat, rucksack instead of belt support straps. Paint them and you are dealing less with uniform colour than with cloth, snow and leather.

On the tabletop

From 76 parts you assemble six French mountain troops in 1:35 scale, each figure around 5 cm tall. As torsos, limbs and equipment come as separate parts, you decide pose and arrangement yourself during the build. The Chasseurs Alpins, known to their opponents as the Diables bleus, were equipped for war in the mountains and in winter. In your diorama you place them in a snowy landscape or beside a vehicle; paints and glue you buy separately.
