Product details

Background & context

The Flower class was designed shortly before the Second World War on the basis of a whale-catcher design, because Britain quickly needed many simple escort ships. The corvettes were built in great numbers in British and Canadian yards, and the British ships carried flower names. In the Battle of the Atlantic they guarded convoys against German U-boats, even though they rolled heavily in rough seas and gave their crews little rest.

On the tabletop

Field the corvette in Cruel Seas as an escort protecting the merchant ships of a convoy. Next to the small, fast boats of the coastal forces, she is a considerably larger vessel with her own gun and depth charges. In anti-submarine scenarios she takes on exactly the role she was built for. She fits any Royal Navy fleet for the Atlantic and the waters around Britain.
