    Product details

    Background & context

The de Havilland Mosquito was one of the most versatile aircraft of the British Air Force in World War II. Originally designed as a fast, unarmed bomber, it evolved into a platform that was equally used for fighter, reconnaissance, and night fighter missions. Its wooden fuselage and high speed made it an elusive adversary. Especially over Northwest Europe, the Mosquito unfolded its full operational effectiveness in a variety of mission profiles.

    On the tabletop

With six de Havilland Mosquitos you field an RAF squadron in Blood Red Skies that lives on speed: the aircraft had no defensive guns and when it entered service in 1941 it was faster than almost any fighter. Because it flew as a bomber, reconnaissance aircraft, night fighter, pathfinder and fighter-bomber, it fits many scenarios over North West Europe. The box also holds bases, double-sided pilot discs and the squadron's cards, and the models are plastic.
