Product details

Background & context

The C-47 is the military version of the Douglas DC-3 and was one of the most important Allied transport aircraft of the Second World War. After 1945 the French Air Force took over large numbers and used them as transports in Indochina and Algeria, and the Aéronavale also flew the type for decades. The decals in this kit show exactly these French post-war aircraft: Indochina 1951/52, Algeria 1957 and the Aéronavale into the 1980s.

On the tabletop

With a 400 mm wingspan, the 1:72 C-47 needs a permanent place in a display cabinet or diorama. The kit has 140 parts, and the three markings show French aircraft after the war: two transport groups of the Armée de l'air in Algeria and in Indochina, and a Dakota of the Aéronautique navale. For a Second World War scene you will therefore need your own decals. Parked at the edge of an airstrip, the model also suits 20 mm gaming tables.
