This 12mm set (1:144 scale) contains 184 detailed British WWII infantrymen and allows for the creation of a complete infantry company at a 1:1 ratio. Included are riflemen, light and heavy machine guns, mortars, anti-tank weapons, radio operators, officers, NCOs, and ammunition carriers. The figures are predominantly single-cast and surpass many 15mm and 20mm miniatures on the market in terms of detail.

Background & context

Eine britische Schützenkompanie der späten Kriegsjahre bestand aus drei Zügen zu je drei Sections, jede mit einem Bren als Feuerbasis. Alles Schwerere lag eine Ebene höher: Vickers-MGs und 3-Zoll-Mörser gehörten dem Bataillon und wurden nach Bedarf zugeteilt. Der PIAT war die Panzerabwehr, die ein Infanterietrupp selbst mitschleppen konnte, mit kurzer Reichweite und unangenehmem Rückstoß, im Heckengelände der Normandie aber überraschend wirksam. Funker und Entfernungsmesser verbanden die Kompanie mit der Artillerie, und darin lag die eigentliche britische Stärke.

On the tabletop

This box builds a British or Canadian infantry company of the last war years in 12 mm scale, one figure per man. Every section gets its Bren gunner as a base of fire, led by NCOs and officers. Vickers guns and 3 inch mortars stand behind them in support, while PIAT teams stop tanks in the Normandy hedgerows. Radio operators and range finders let you call in artillery, and snipers and ammunition carriers complete the company.
