Product details

Background & context

The Duchy of Nassau had sent troops to fight for Napoleon until 1813 and then changed sides. In the 1815 campaign Nassau soldiers fought for the Allies at several key points. The 2nd Regiment first held the crossroads at Quatre Bras on 16 June and at Waterloo stood on the left wing around Papelotte, while one battalion helped defend Hougoumont. The 1st Regiment under General von Kruse fought in the centre behind La Haye Sainte.

On the tabletop

As in many armies of the period, a Nassau battalion placed its grenadiers and light infantry on the wings. Glue these heads onto the figures at the ends of your bases or onto separate bases so the flank companies stand out from the rest. In Black Powder Epic Battles this lets you field the Nassau troops of 1815, for example defending Hougoumont, at Papelotte or at the Quatre Bras crossroads.
