Product details

Background & context

The United Kingdom of the Netherlands, proclaimed in 1815, raised three regiments of carabiniers, two Dutch and one Belgian. At Waterloo they formed a heavy brigade under Major General Trip in the cavalry reserve behind the centre. In the afternoon, as Ney's cavalry swept against the Allied squares, Trip led his regiments against the French cuirassiers. Dutch and Belgian troopers rode in the same brigade fifteen years before Belgium broke away in 1830.

On the tabletop

For a brigade of carabiniers, swap the heads of Epic scale cavalry figures for these and add Trip's horsemen to your Waterloo army. In Black Powder Epic Battles they wait in reserve behind the centre as heavy cavalry and step in when French cuirassiers ride against the Allied line. The rider figures themselves are not included.
