Product details

Background & context

Around 1800 the bicorne was the typical officer's hat. In the British army generals, staff officers and aides still wore it at Waterloo, long after the infantry had moved to the shako. On the battlefield it made commanders and their gallopers recognisable from a distance. Wellington himself appears in many portraits in a plain bicorne without a plume, in keeping with his sober manner.

On the tabletop

On the Epic Battles table, Wellington's staff needs hats that stand apart from the shakos of the line. Use these heads to put brigade and division commanders and their aides on the command bases of your British army for Black Powder, so they can be told from the rank and file at a glance. Fifteen heads cover several command bases and still leave some spares.
