Product details

Background & context

The Bf 110 was conceived as a Zerstörer: a heavy long-range fighter that was to escort its own bombers and shoot its way through enemy interceptors. Over Poland, France and Norway the concept worked; two 20mm cannon and five machine guns made for a powerful armament. Over England it then became clear that a nimble single-engined fighter was simply faster in a turning fight. The aircraft nevertheless remained in service until the end of the war.

On the tabletop

The Messerschmitt Bf 110 was a twin-engined Zerstörer, a heavy fighter that also served as a fighter-bomber, making up for its lack of agility with two 20 mm cannon, five machine guns and well-planned tactics. It was successful over Poland, France and Norway, but over England it lost out to nimble single-engined fighters. In Blood Red Skies you therefore fly the six plastic models with firepower and coordination rather than tight turns. Aircraft card, trait cards, bases and decals are included.
