Background & context

Im Unabhängigkeitskrieg zerbrach die Irokesen-Liga an der Frage, auf welcher Seite man stehen sollte: Mohawk und Seneca zogen mit der Krone, Oneida und Tuscarora mit den Aufständischen. Gekämpft wurde vor allem im Mohawk-Tal und entlang der Siedlungsgrenze, bei Oriskany 1777 standen sich Krieger beider Lager unmittelbar gegenüber. Dieser Krieg bestand aus Überfällen, Aufklärung und niedergebrannten Dörfern, nicht aus Linienschlachten.

On the tabletop

Eight warriors with a choice of weapons form a band of skirmishers for the War of Independence. Because the Iroquois League split, you can field them on either side: the Mohawk and Seneca fought for the Crown, the Oneida and Tuscarora for the rebels. In Black Powder they move as a loose unit through woods and undergrowth and threaten open flanks. Scenarios built around raids and scouting, as in the Mohawk Valley, suit them best.
