Background & context

Jede Gemeinde Neuenglands unterhielt eine Miliz, in der praktisch jeder wehrfähige Mann eingeschrieben war, die Minutemen waren der Teil davon, der binnen kürzester Zeit ausrücken sollte. Am 19. April 1775 fielen bei Lexington und Concord die ersten Schüsse, und die heimkehrende britische Kolonne wurde den ganzen Weg nach Boston beschossen. Im offenen Feld hielt die Miliz selten stand, hinter Steinmauern und auf bekanntem Boden dagegen sehr wohl.

On the tabletop

The ten militiamen wear civilian clothes instead of uniform and carry rifles, with a choice of heads. For Black Powder they make the turnout of a New England town, like the men who fired on the British column at Lexington and Concord in 1775. The militia is at its best behind stone walls, fences and on familiar ground, so keep it out of open field battles. Bases are not included.
