Background & context

The US Army in the Vietnam War was one of the most integrated armed forces of its time - this kit reflects that with Caucasian and African-American head options. The equipment, including PRC-25 radio, webbing, and grenade launcher options, corresponds to the real-life standard of American infantry in the jungle warfare of Southeast Asia. The wide arsenal of weapons - from M16 to M79 to M72 LAW - illustrates the tactical breadth with which US units operated from the late 1960s until their withdrawal in 1975.

On the tabletop

These 30 plastic figures make American infantry for Vietnam War games. Arm the riflemen with the M16, give individual men a grenade launcher with the M79 or M203, and use the M72 LAW against bunkers and vehicles. The radio operator with the PRC-25 belongs with the platoon command, because the radio was how a platoon called in artillery and helicopters. The different heads give your platoon a mixed appearance, and 25 mm bases are included for every figure.
