    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The M106A1 was a mortar carrier variant of the M113 family, carrying an M30 mortar in the rear fighting compartment. The mortar could be fired from within the vehicle or dismounted, providing mobile indirect fire support. Like other M113 variants, the M106A1 belongs to the context of US and allied forces in the Cold War and Vietnam War. Its design combined the protection and mobility of the M113 with the firepower of a heavy mortar.

    The M106A1 Mortar Carrier is an M113-based mobile indirect fire support vehicle. In the game, it can flexibly redeploy mortar fire and cover support areas. Since the delivery also includes a dismounted M30 mortar with crew, both mortars and field artillery are deployed.
