    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The M113 was introduced in the early 1960s as a fully tracked armored personnel carrier and first deployed to Vietnam in 1962. In Vietnam, it became one of the most widely used armored vehicles of the US Army and was also used by allied forces. The ACAV versions received additional armament and protection for operations with armored cavalry units. Australian modifications reflect the use by ANZAC forces in the Vietnam War.
