    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The M151 was the successor to the M38 and M38A1 light vehicles, and was widely used in US services starting in the early 1960s. The M151A1C variant carried an M40 106mm recoilless rifle on a pedestal mount and transported ammunition and tools for this weapon. This offered light units a highly mobile anti-tank solution. The small size made the vehicle agile, but as an unarmored platform, it remained vulnerable.
