    Hintergrund & Einordnung

    The Royal Hungarian Army deployed significant troop contingents on the Eastern Front during World War II. While many units initially had little combat experience, some infantry divisions developed considerable combat routine after years in the East. Particularly in defense, Hungarian units showed increasing steadfastness towards the end of the war - for example, the 25th Division in the Battle of Torda or the 10th Division in the Siege of Budapest. Equipping with modern anti-tank weapons like the Panzerfaust significantly improved the combat effectiveness of the infantry against Soviet tanks - a clear improvement compared to the early war years on the Don.

    Einsatz im Spiel

    Hungarian Honvéd infantry is particularly suitable for late Eastern Front scenarios in 1944/45 - defensive battles, fighting retreats, and encirclement scenarios such as the Budapest Pocket. With 13 men per section, this unit offers a numerical advantage over smaller but better-equipped opponents. As an Axis faction, it combines excellently with German allies and allows for the creation of historically authentic coalition armies in the Eastern European theater of war.
