Hintergrund & Einordnung

The German Africa Corps was deployed to North Africa starting in 1941 to support its beleaguered Italian allies. Under the command of Field Marshal Erwin Rommel - the "Desert Fox" - it fought in a series of fierce engagements in Egypt and Libya. The battles of El Alamein, Tobruk, and Gazala shaped the tactics of both sides and are considered milestones in military history. The troops of the Africa Corps were known for their mobility and were respected by friend and foe alike. After the end of the North African campaign, many of these experienced soldiers continued to fight in Tunisia and on the Apennine Peninsula.

Einsatz im Spiel

The set forms the core of a German Bolt Action desert warfare army. The numerous weapon options allow for flexible infantry squad configurations - from standard rifle squads with Kar 98Ks to MG34-reinforced fire teams and mortar squads for indirect fire. The Panzerbüchse 39 enhances infantry-level anti-tank capabilities. Thanks to the tropical uniforms and included decals, the set is suitable for North Africa, Sicily, and Italy scenarios.
